Welcome to the Okanagan Hare Scrambles Series... The Okanagan Hare Scrambles Series is an interior race series put on by the local off road motorcycle clubs, which include: - South Okanagan Dirt Bike Club Our primary goal is to promote family riding and racing while preserving and maintaining the areas that we ride in. Education of our racers is first and foremost in keeping our riding areas open and all of our clubs work closely with various levels of government for sustainable, well maintained trails.

1953 Art and Mona Chambers moved to Vernon, BC with their three children. Art was a Sergeant in the Combat Engineers of the Canadian Army and had been transferred to the Vernon Army Base. Once in Vernon both Art and Mona decided that the Okanagan is where they wanted to stay and Art left the army to pursue a life in the forest industry. Between 1953 and 1964 there were many ups and downs in their quest for financial stability. Two children came into the family; while Art took on challenges involving logging, saw milling and finally working as a millwright for Merritt Diamond Sawmills in Lumby BC. In 1964 Art and his oldest son Danny started Dan Chambers Trucking in Lumby with two 1954 Freightliner pup and truck lumber units. Mona took care of the bookkeeping and order taking while Danny and Art put in driving hours that would be considered extreme by any standard. Through the late 60's and into the early 1970's the company participated in hauling a bit of everything including lumber, logs, and heavy equipment. Around 1972 DCT made its first venture into hauling wood residuals using 45' Semi Trailers with the roofs removed to haul wood chips to the Pulp Mill in Kamloops. The introduction of wood residuals to DCT would be a major turning point in the company's destiny. Although hard work was the only strategy at the time, Art had a clear vision that wood residuals would become a significant part of the transportation industry. After 14 years with the company Danny sold his shares to his parents in 1978 so that he could pursue other interests in trailer manufacturing and design. It was with Danny's departure that the company name was changed from Dan Chambers Trucking, to DCT Chambers Trucking Ltd. With Danny leaving the company, Art and Mona turned to their younger son David and convinced him to leave the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in spring of 1980 and become part of the growing operation. Art, Mona and David Chambers jointly hold DCT today. DCT is now a major provider of transportation and services to the forest industry in the Pacific Northwest. With over 400 members, a major chip plant in Chemainus, BC and 200 plus trucks DCT is a valuable supplier to Board Plants, Power Plants, Pulp Mills, and Sawmills throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. The success of the company today is a result of an amazing group of DCT members working together under a philosophy that has been engrained into them by the example of the owners and founders.
